Shellos

Story Information

Beware of pushing strongly on its squishy body, as it makes a mysterious purple fluid ooze out.

As of yet, nobody knows what the mysterious purple fluid ooze is. Some PokeScientists theorize that it's merely a concentrated form of the normal slime Shellos oozes out. Others thing it's an acid. Others think it's nonexistent (although they don't actually try and see if a purple ooze comes out). However nobody's actually tried to test it.

I, PokeManiac Chris take it upon myself to discover what this purple ooze is. To test the ooze, I have caught myself an East Sea Shellos (male). I have also caught myself an Azurill (female). The two pokemon have never met each other before, and will likely respond to each other as wild pokemon would. I use a sectioned off glass-room of my house to test the purple ooze with the Azurill.

So far, the purple ooze hasn't shown any type of dissolving property on surfaces or objects. It just seems to pour out of the Shellos, possibly as an anti-predator move. It doesn't seem to have any special properties in particular. So now I test it with another creature.

The Shellos and the Azurill are released into the room. They immediately notice each other. The Azurill is more cautious than curious, noticing that the Shellos is only a foot tall (despite being 8 inches tall). She bounces over carefree, and then bounces on top of the Shellos' back, find it amusing that the Shellos is also blue. The Shellos shows obvious discomfort at this gesture and begins to ooze the purple fluid. As the Azurill bounces blissfully on the Shellos' back, the Shellos moves away, tripping the Azurill and making it fall into the ooze. The Azurill was stuck! Any attempts to move were futile, it remained stuck in the thick purple ooze. I was going to go in and pull out the Azurill, but I noticed the Shellos moving back toward the trapped Azurill. It slid over the top of the Azurill and sat there, the Azurill's ball the only thing not covered by the Shellos. I noticed the purple ooze began being sucked back up, and... the Azurill was being sucked into the Shellos' green, soft underside. I quickly turned toward the Azurill's microcamera's screen. The Azurill was being enveloped by the Shellos' body, entering a fairly cavernous area, dimly lit by the slight transparency of the Shellos. The Azurill looked around in shock, giving me a better view of the surroundings. The walls were that of the skin, and there appeared to be a slight tube which connected to the head. These observations lead me to the conclusion that this must be a stomach of sorts. If I don't hurry, the Azurill's to become Shellos food!

I rush into the room, without any protection, like an idiot. The Azurill's tail is almost absorbed, but I quickly grab it and pull. The Shellos isn't willing to let go of its meal. It slams into me, knocking me back several feet as it begins to glow brightly. After about 15 seconds, the light disappears and I'm met with a blue Gastrodon, standing 3 feet tall, only two and a half feet shorter than me. The Azurill is entirely absorbed at this point. The Gastrodon turns a devious look towards me, and I get up in an attempt to escape. It denies this with a mud bomb that crashes into my back. When I finally do get up, I note the blue body of the Gastrodon covering my legs. It can't secrete the purple ooze at the moment, it having just secreted earlier. Rather than absorbing me through its underside, the Gastrodon leans down and picks me up by the head with his head. He begins swallowing toughly, extending his neck when necessary to swallow my entire form.

The inside of the Gastrodon is terribly moist. Literally everything is slime, and it's not quite thick but it's not quite water either. The throat is a tad cramped. He doesn't make gulping sounds, as he doesn't have muscles to push me down. I sort of flow down into his belly, which is equal in feeling to the previous areas. The Azurill is no longer present. It would seem that the evolution process sped up the digestion process as well. However I have no time to contemplate things as a yellow ooze began filling the cavern. The stomach also began to twist and turn softly as it attempted to break down me. It would be sorely mistaken.

I really didn't want to do this, but I guess I have to. I should take this time to note that I'm a Ditto, not a human. I often take the form of a human, though. But here- it's gotten too out of control, and I need to transform my way out of this Gastrodon. I quickly transform into an Abra, and teleport out. Once out, I shake off the digestive fluids and chyme. The Gastrodon notices me almost immediately and is quite angry that his meal was rudely ended. Unfortunately, I have no time to deal with this Gastrodon's hunger.

I transform into an Exploud, once again almost as tall as a human. I shout at the Gastrodon, startling it back. I charge to it and lower my enormous mouth to the ground. The result is the entire Gastrodon scooped up like ice cream into my maw. And ice cream it is. The East Sea Gastrodon has a sort of blueberry jelly flavor. I swallow it slowly but surely, savoring it bit by bit. As it enters my stomach I let out a fairly loud belch, mainly amplified by myself. I transform back into my pink Ditto self. The Gastrodon is large, but can't break the membrane of my body. I move my eyes to the inside of my stomach and observe the digestive process.

The Gastrodon thrashes violently, as if it could possibly get out. I chuckle a bit. The a thicker pink goo fills my center, and begins to work at the Gastrodon. My center tosses and turns as it stirs up the Gastrodon in a big pasty stew. The blue slime of the Gastrodon slowly turns a magenta, before it becomes entirely consistent with the stomach goo. The 'shell' is the only thing that remains, but it disappears soon enough. With all the material gone, the pink stomach goo turns back to the lighter color of the rest of me, and there is no remaining evidence that there ever was a Gastrodon. I change back into my human self, which releases a small "urp". I pat my stomach contently and exit the glass room, off to find more test subjects.
