Evolution

Story Information

Pokemon go through natural evolutions that promote survival quickly. However, the very base has also been evolved, but rather over many, many years or decades.

Some seem to have forms that don't make sense. Such as looking like food or tools or being incredibly small. For example, joltiks are commonly stepped on, pokemon such as cherubi and vanillite are mistakenly eaten. Their forms are called anti-survival and evolutionary suicide.

            This is not so.

Alex was getting an ice cream, as a gift to himself for passing his classes. He paid five dollars and got a cool vanilla ice cream with an icy blue cone. He sat down and began to lick the ice cream away. Eventually, he had eaten all the cream part and only the cone remained. He swallowed the remaining cone whole, and let out a fair belch.

The vanillish special was 3 feet tall but Alex still had some room left, so he decided to get that too. On his way back to the stand, he encountered some difficulty as the “ice cream” inside him knocked into his stomach and knocked off his balance. Alex realized he just ate an actual Vanillite and not just a special. However, he wasn't about to try and throw it up. Rather, he just decided to deal with his accidental prey, and enjoy it, a bit.

He got up and ordered one vanillish special, hoping it wouldn't be a live one, as he didn't think his stomach could stand a live Vanillish. He brought it back to his table and realized wow, it was massive. Three feet of ice cream. That was about half his height. He took out his camera to record him eating the entire vanillish special and put it on YouTube. He licked it all over, tasting its sugary vanilla flavor. He was occasionally jostled by his angry inhabitant, which made trying to eat the ice cream slightly difficult.

Having licked off the little top swirl, Alex went down a bit, above the two specks of ice. He leaned into lick it when his passenger rammed his stomach, sending him straight into the ice cream.

He let out another short belch as his Vanillite caused oftenly, and then tried to pull his head out of the ice cream. It was very cold, and his head appeared stuck. He tried pulling it again, and it just seemed to be pulled in further. He dug his hands into the ice cream to try and get his head unstuck, to no avail. Rather, his hands got pulled past his head, deeper into the ice cream.

Now he was starting to become confused, and possibly a twinge of fright. He felt his shoulders enter the ice cream. And then he heard a muffled noise come from all around him. He wasn't sure what it was. It sounded soft but firm. He felt his hands enter a hollow area with walls of smooth ice. The soft, firm sound came again, and his arms entered the chamber as well. As his legs were pulled from the ground to the air and chair, he began to flail a bit before trying to hold on via feet. The cold ice cream continued anyway, wrapping around his waist. By now, his head and shoulders were inside the ice cavern, lit up by light from outside. He could just barely make out anything through the ice. He could see the table under him and a black object nearby - probably his camera. He was distracted momentarily by looking around and his ice cream took the opportunity to suck up his legs to his knees. He immediately began flailing again, but he couldn't enough anymore with just his knees.

Alex felt extremely cramped, with his entire torso and up inside the icy chamber. His legs had to bend up through the icy tube, and his knees and under were stuck in the upper part of the ice cream. That said, he couldn't move at all. To make matters worse, a very cold, slushy substance started to pour into the chamber. All feeling in his arms went away, as they were the first to come in contact with it. They didn't even feel cold at this point. Just nothing but numb. He used his shoulders to try and lift out his arms, and his arms, seemingly encrusted by slush came up. And then they disintegrated and fell back into the slush. The slush sounded like it was gurgling, and it kept rising. When it reached his head, it numbed him to the point of fainting.

Outside, the Vanillish let out an icy belch. Nobody paid it mind over the music coming from the ice cream stand. It let out shorter belches each time another part of its pred- well, prey, was able to fall into its digestive fluids. The Vanillite sat calmly in the middle of all digestion, unharmed. It drank some of the sustenance and was able to regenerate the ice cream licked off by its former predator. The Vanillish did as well. When the human was finally done digesting, Vanillish let the Vanillite out and they hi-fived each other as much as they could with their arms. They eventually levitated away. Seeking a cold place, or maybe another plan like this.
