Story Information

Alphys is the Royal Scientist for a reason. Well technically, that reason is partially falsified, but there are other reasons too. While not quite an artificial SOUL, creating an artificial body for a ghost is a pretty impressive feat. Not to mention any one of random inventions coming out of her lab. Plenty of hidden reasons, too. Hopefully ASGORE doesn’t know about those!! They’re hidden for a reason. It makes her anxious just thinking about it.

Yes, there’s the “True Lab”, but that’s not what Alphys is thinking about this particular instant. Her mind turns to much more… private thoughts. A fetish, as opposed to normal “private” thoughts! Through the power of science, she has managed to live it in some degree, despite it normally being impossible. Well, not for her, rather it should be said “unethical” or “a crime to perform upon any living creature”.

Well fortunately for her, she found a loophole to sate her very literal hunger. And only three actual monsters were turned into fat before she figured it out. Now, hidden away in a different hidden area of lab, she has… a cloning machine! Very simple. Well, it wasn’t simple to make, but its function is pretty simple, and impressive, if she does say so herself.

Simply put, it allows for a total duplication of a monster, albeit without their SOUL. That’s fine by Alphys though, as it’s really only their body that provides the… pleasures and experiences. She’s tried it out already many, many times. With herself, with random monsters she’s seen here or there… Some… not-so-random monsters like… Bratty, Catty, Sans, ASGORE, and even…

Alphys blushed anxiously as she stood at the machine. It was a rather ugly looking thing, haphazardly designed with a wide and tall cylinder as well as wires and pipes of various sizes and colors connecting it to the wall, ceiling, and a small terminal next to it. The actual creation process was very streamlined. Once she had collected any sample of a monster’s magic-- usually hair or fur-- and entered them into the database, she could recreate them at will at any time. Well, with a limit of about once a week. Magic was hard to generate.

That was usually fine. Even monsters only half the size of her could sate her for about that time. Though she did notice her new diet was starting to add up on her. There wasn’t much physical waste, given their nature, so it pretty much was all used as energy or basically stored as fat, for later. Most people wouldn’t notice though, with her posture and lab coat. All the better, as she didn’t want anyone to even ask about the weight. She didn’t even have an excuse prepared.

For now, she turned on the machine. It whirred to life and clanked a bit as it did. The computer prompt very simply asked, “SELECTION?” She already had a meal in mind, her favorite. Very quickly her claws typed in, “UNDYNE”. The door to the cylinder slid shut while the computer buzzed slightly. Then there was a loud noise as magic was pumped into the chamber. This was the longest part, waiting over the rather loud venting noise and similarly loud droning as the magic was structured.

But finally, the cylinder opened. With some smoky gas pouring out alongside it, it presented a… rather naked Undyne. As to be expected, since clothing wasn’t really part of a SOUL’s projected magic. Still it never failed to make Alphys embarrassed, as if she were seeing the real Undyne nude. No, this one was a pale imitation of the real one. Each of them held a rather basic AI that Alphys had programmed for them in lieu of a SOUL.

The Undyne clone blinked to life and stepped out of the chamber. It immediately turned and stared at Alphys. There were a few tense seconds, but then it smiled goofily, did a clumsy wave, and said, “Hi Alphys! How can I help you today?”

Alphys swallowed nervously. Even though she knew it was fake, the imitation of social interaction made her anxious. She stammered, “H-Hi, Un-Un… Oh, oh gosh.” She looked around quickly, as if there’d be anyone in her lab. Then she continued, quietly, “Um… I’m hungry, so…”

The keyphrase jolted the Undyne clone to life, even if Alphys couldn’t finish her sentence. It said, “Hungry, huh? Maybe you’d like a helping of fish to sate your appetite?” Alphys blushed intensely, simply nodding. It was her own writing and dialogue, but coming from Undyne’s voice it was irresistible. In a less flirtatious tone, the Undyne asked, “Would you like your meal willing or unwilling today?”

A kind of counterintuitive question, but the question was just set up as a matter of preference depending on her mood. Alphys said, blushing, “H-how about… will… ing…?”

The clone took a moment to interpret the response. After a few seconds it grinned and said, “Sure! Open wiiiide!”

Alphys shyly started to open her maw, almost absentmindedly. Already she was starting to drool as her body eagerly awaited what was coming. The fish-lady-clone reached its hands to the smaller lizard, opening her mouth faster than she was doing it herself. Then it started pushing deeper, forcing its hands into her throat. Alphys swallowed, tears welling up a bit as she did. As much as she enjoyed this, the AI were still a bit rough.

Suddenly, she distantly heard her door ring. Alphys’ eyes shot open, glancing to the side towards the entrance of the secret room. Someone was outside her lab. She heard the monitor in there turn to the door camera and immediately her the familiar voice of Undyne. The actual Undyne. Alphys gagged as her clone pushed deeper, elbows resting on the lizard’s tongue. Alphys started to choke and cough, ejecting the Undyne’s arms. It looked confused a bit, but was still persistent on feeding itself to its creator. Alphys quickly said, “Just- just default reset!” The Undyne suddenly stood stiffly, as if it just came out of the machine.

            */^\*

Undyne’s knocking, ringing, and shouting finally prevailed when the door opened, revealing the easily recognizable Royal Scientist. She was much shorter than her, definitely a couple of feet. Especially with how she hunched over, Alphys was only barely at waist-level. Nonetheless, Undyne presented a toothy grin at her friend. “Hey, how’s my favorite Royal Scientist doing?!” she said, enthusiastically.

Alphys held her hands together and swished her tail back and forth. Once the question processed, she answered, “Oh! Um. Good!”

“Been up to any science, lately?”

Alphys darted a look to the side, but quickly reestablished eye contact. “I uh… N-no? Just… eating… lunch…?”

“Ooh! Got any of that ramen left over? Mind if I come in?”

“I mean I don’t always… Um… S-sure!” Alphys stepped aside, curling her tail around her legs as she did so. As anxious as she was about letting anyone in at well, any time, Undyne-- the real Undyne-- always had a way around her heart.

Undyne stepped in with her usual swagger, taking in the lab. It was always such a unique place to her, holding any number of potential inventions. It seemed like the latest addition was escalators on each side of the lab to connect to the upstairs. Also, this weird hole in the wall. She walked over to it, examining the hole and hallway behind it. She paid no attention to Alphys behind her, seemingly getting more and more anxious and even crossing into panic.

Alphys started spilling out a number of excuses, distractions, or literally anything else that had a chance to turn Undyne around. But curiosity had firmly seized her, getting her to wander in. The hallway was poorly lit and rough, seemingly new. But fortunately for her, it wasn’t very long before she found the end. This was a better-made room, mainly centered around some sort of large machine in the middle. Pipes, wires, computers, normal science stuff.

In the corner, there was something with a sheet thrown over it. Curiosity grabbed Undyne yet again, but this time Alphys managed to slide between her and the cover. She opened her mouth, waiting for an excuse to form in her mind. After several awkward seconds she managed, “Um! D-don’t…”

Alphys was blushing intensely and noticeably. Undyne smiled broadly and said, “Hey Dr. Alphys, don’t you know you can trust ol’ Undyne with your secret stuff? I won’t tell anyone, I promise.” The lizard once again found herself melting at her words. With a gentle scoot to the side, Undyne then reached forward and dramatically tore off the sheet to reveal… herself?

Undyne was, both surprisingly yet expected, unfazed by the nudity of her clone. Rather, she was mostly mesmerized by looking at herself without a mirror. The clone, for whatever reason (possibly from being so close to its magical original, Alphys speculated), mimicked each of Undyne’s moves with unusual efficiency. Its AI wasn’t really that good on its own, and the dual movements even entranced Alphys. Both of the fish-ladies’ bodies were just rippling with muscles, even if one was wearing some clothes.

Finally, the actual Undyne turned back towards Alphys. The scientist held her breath, anticipating the worst. But then Undyne blurted out, “This is SO cool!!! It looks and acts just like me!” The clone amplified her voice speaking simultaneously, triggering a sort of memory in the fish-woman’s head. They posed together again, mirroring each other as she performed a sort of dance. Alphys recognized it from one of her animes, blushing with hands on her snout. Undyne asked, still amusing herself, “So, what’s it for?”

The Royal Scientist froze up. “I-- Um, e-excuse me?”

“What’s it for, Alphy? I’ve never seen anyone clone a monster before. Must be bleeding edge tech, right?!” She idly generated a spear, though the clone seemed incapable of imitating that particular move.

“Um… It’s…” Alphys’ stomach groaned and she clutched it quickly. It knew that its meal was very close and overdue now. Undyne of course, heard the sound of the hungry scientist and once again focused on her. She seemed to be considering her, tilting her head and studying. Then finally, she reached forward and hefted up the lizard.

“Oof! You’re a bit heavier than last time I picked you up! Whatcha been eating?”

            Alphys muttered unintelligibly.

“Hmm. Perhaps… Clones of monsters?!” Undyne said this in her threatening guard voice, though Alphys couldn’t sink deeper into her pit of shame and embarrassment. All she could do was continue to make random noises in some attempt to speak. Undyne held out Alphys in front of her, unaffected by her increased weight regardless. Despite the teeth and eyepatch, Undyne managed to smile softly. “Hey, hey, it’s alright. I mean, they’re just clones, right?”

Alphys thought internally, well, now… but refused to even think about saying that out loud. Instead she simply nodded, and Undyne gently let her down to the ground. Undyne’s curiosity was once again starting to get the best of her. “So… Do you have any special recipes or preparation or…?”

            Alphys shook her head. Speaking quietly, “I just… uh… s-swallow them… whole?”

Undyne stared blankly, then began to widen into another grin. “Ooh! Even for big ol’ monsters like me?”

The scientist broke eye contact and fiddled with her claws, but nodded slowly. As understanding as Undyne was being, she couldn’t help but blush intensely and feel the constant beat of anxiety in her chest. Undyne looked back at her clone and continued, “Hmm… I don’t suppose your clones are so good that you might… mix us up?” Undyne walked over to stand side by side with her clone, who reconnected and began to mirror her movements again.

There was an obvious difference however: One was blatantly nude, while the other wore a full set of clothing. The other realized this pretty quickly though, grinning at Alphys. The expression struck Alphys in the face, bringing her hands to her face. She couldn’t possibly be… Undyne reached behind her back, seemingly to remove her tanktop. The lizard watching the situation unfold struggled between looking away and taking in every available second of the real deal undressing.

Yet… instead, Undyne revealed a duplicate set of clothes that she had somehow had with her. Alphys dropped her hands, dumbfounded by her friend’s actions. It was a bit finicky to dress someone who copied your every move, but leave it to the Royal Guard leader to accomplish that. Soon enough, the previously naked clone wore an identical tanktop and jeans, and even an eyepatch and ponytail.

“Well,” Undyne asked, “How about now?! Firmly mixed up?” Alphys looked back and forth between the two. They had switched spots a few times for good measure and looked completely identical. They even spoke at the same time, without delay. Teasing, they said united, “So Alphys, which one will it be? Who is the real thing?! Who is the meal?!! Make your choice!!!” Both raised their arms in the air. Filled with determination and hunger, the scientist nearly leapt forward, grabbing one.

The Undyne she grabbed was quickly stuffed into her mouth headfirst and swallowed. The fabric was a bit of an annoyance after having nude food for so long, but nothing she couldn’t get past. It even reminded her of the old days a bit, quickly scarfing down struggling live monsters, clothes and all. Unfortunately, despite the clothes, this particular monster wasn’t struggling. Though that gave Alphys some confidence that she made the right choice.

Squinting open an eye as she continued swallowing down the fish-lady, Alphys saw that the remaining Undyne was just watching her. It made her blush a bit, but at this point she was just hungry more than anything else. The teasing earlier had now turned her appetite into its own monster, making her ravenously devour her food without as much tasting. Not that there was much to taste with the clothes on.

Alphys’ tongue still curled instinctively around its meal, lubricating it for its descent. Her throat was about as wide as the monster she was eating, barely even constricting with each gulp. She could already feel Undyne-- well, the Undyne clone-- starting to enter her stomach. A familiar weight set in as it started to fill, causing her gut to quickly distend and spill onto the floor. With only the Undyne’s shoes hanging out, she quickly slurped them in (and knocked a shoe off).

One last hard gulp and those too went down her throat. She held her belly as the Undyne settled in there, upside down as it was. Rubbing over her misshapen guts, she let out a loud belch that knocked her down. Though on the ground, she found it easier to relax and enjoy her food. Her stomach was already quick at work on its meal, very familiar on the process.

She looked up at Undyne, who was still staring rather blankly. Alphys said, with extra confidence from her meal, “See? I’m pretty good with faces! And cloning isn’t a perfect science.” She patted her belly, which was moving slightly from attempted churning. Undyne still stared blankly, unresponding. Alphys frowned, attempting to move onto more flirtatious remarks with less confidence. “Perhaps, uh… well, I think I still have some extra space. I could go for more fish.”

Undyne finally seemed to come to life. She beamed at Alphys and asked, “Would you like your meal willing or unwilling today?”

Alphys’ blood froze at the canned dialogue. Now it was her turn to stare blankly at the Undyne, and eventually break her gaze to stare at her gut. It was starting to become more active, even beyond the normal movements of her stomach. “Oh no,” she muttered. She repeated herself with increasing volume, before coming to her feet in full-blown panic. “I was wrong! Oh I ate the real Undyne! Oh… oh… oh my…”

In her bout of panic, she paced very close to the clone, who suddenly emitted a single shouting syllable. Alphys froze again, turning to look at it. Its behavior was otherwise normal for a clone, still just standing there. The scientist took a step closer to her creation, which immediately started shouting again. Shouting her name. She asked it, wavering, “U-U-Un-Undyne?”

The clone settled down a bit, though still responded, “Alphys! You can hear me!”

            “Um… your clone is… speaking to me…”

“Well that’s weird. Yeah I was trying to get your attention because you swallowed the wrong Undyne, dork!”

Alphys tapped her claws together nervously. “W-Well… Yeah…”

“It’s no problem, really! Though I’d like it if you could let me out now.”

“I don’t know if I can do that…” she said, stiffening.

“Aw c’mon. If you managed to swallow big ol’ me I’m sure you can get me back out too.”

            “I c-can try…”

Alphys stepped away from the clone again, attempting to lean over despite her gut. She was barely taller than it, which made it rather challenging. With some effort and momentum, she managed to swing herself over her stomach, leaving her facing downward. The unfortunate side effect was that she was now stuck in the air, supported only by her large gut. Her tail could barely sweep against the ground and the lack of control sparked some anxiety.

Regardless, she started trying to spit up Undyne. Her stomach heaved under her, simultaneously trying to release and hold on to its meal. It grumbled as Alphys did so, the parts of her that were trying to keep down her food winning. Something did come up her throat though. Choking a bit, Alphys managed to cough out a single eyepatch. She squealed quietly at the sight, reaching down to feel her stomach.

It was starting to round out. She could still feel Undyne squirming about in there, but no doubt her gut was working fast. It had adopted a rather speedy process for dealing with the big prey Alphys often ate these days. Stuck dangling above her belly, Alphys really had no choice but to wait. The clone surely wouldn’t be a help, except if she got hungry. She couldn’t hear the real Undyne at all with the exception of some muffled shouts. For the most part it was just growling and gurgling. Helpless to move, all she felt were the churning movements of her gut, softening and melting down its food.

As Undyne stopped moving, her belly really went to town. The scientist at the top of it was shaking with every movement, as well as some from leftover guilt and anxiety. But that too was quickly melting away as she sunk into the sheer pleasure of her meal. SOUL or no SOUL, it was the body that was really substantial. Some part of her was even recalling her previous times with real prey. There was a certain rush that even the unwilling setting on the clones wouldn’t recreate.

The lizard’s tongue lolled out as she started to succumb to the pleasure of digestion. Undyne was so strong and she was so weak. Who’d have expected that the real deal would succumb in the belly of someone like her? She clutched her gut, soft under all the scales. Blorps and glurgles came from it as the former fish-monster was worked into a thick stew. Her belly shrinked as well, the now-liquid nature of its food allowing for a better shape to form.

Her state of ecstasy lasted for a while, until she suddenly felt her feet scrape against the cold metal ground. Alphys blinked to life, pulling her tongue back in and looking around. It was still the same room, with the Undyne clone standing mindlessly a few feet away. With careful coordination, Alphys managed to slide back onto her feet, belly sloshing as she did. She sighed, coming down and settling back into some level of guilt. Especially with the Undyne clone still just staring at her. She wasn’t sure what to do with it now. She already ate, and didn’t think she’d be in the mood for fake Undyne after eating the real thing. Perhaps she could deform it back into pure magic?

The satisfied scientist was quickly becoming drowsy, but she had to tidy up here before any other people wandered in (and potentially down her stomach as well). Her belly now obeyed her movements, but only just. Navigation was a bit tricky, and she ended up just walking backwards as a solution. Bumping into the clone with her back, she started trying to nudge it back into the machine. It obliged slowly, just to keep its balance.

Frustrated and tired, Alphys turned back around and started trying to push it that way, belly or not. Using her arms and belly to push didn’t seem to help at all. She looked up at the Undyne, who was still staring at her. Tired and full as she was, she was starting to consider eating it just for the sake of getting rid of it. But then, rather suddenly, the clone hoisted her up into the air (with some difficulty).

Alphys wasn’t sure how to react to that. She went still for the most part, except for the uncontrollable sounds still emanating from her dangling gut. The Undyne clone looked at it, then looked back at the scientist. For its next surprise, it… smiled? Alphys jerked back in some shock, but the Undyne suddenly squeezed her tightly in what seemed like a bone-crushing embrace. After several long, oxygen-deprived seconds, it let go. Holding her out at arm's length, it said, “You managed to get me out, doc! I mean, you put me in there, but yeah.”

Well… no she didn’t. She was actually incredibly confused right now, even more than before. Alphys’ mind ran circles trying to think of how this occurred. Magical transfer? Did Undyne’s SOUL merge with hers? Was it something related to ‘determination’? Undyne let her down as she slowly said, “I-I-I… I didn’t let you out, Undyne.” Alphys fondled her bloated belly. It was still large, holding all of the liquefied remains of a monster, and rather doughy as a result.

Undyne remained steadfast in her confidence and said, “Well, regardless! Here I am, safe and sound and not digesting.” She stretched a bit, then started to head out of the secret lab. “C’mon, let’s get out--” she said, before cutting out. Alphys cocked her head a bit, walking over to Undyne’s side. The fish-lady looked down for a few moments before blinking out of a trance and saying, “Whoa! I blanked out there for a moment. Uh…”

The scientist was concerned. Magic was a tricky thing, especially if determination was involved. And more than that, an unstable thing. Monster SOULs weren’t very strong outside of their body, often shattering easily. Perhaps that had merged Undyne with her… this might mean she had a few other passengers on her body in a very literal sense. But she’d deal with those repercussions later. She just needed to help Undyne, for now.

“U-Um, Undyne,” she said, nervously yet clinically, “Do you… feel any different than usual? Physical, magic… otherwise?”

The tall monster considered herself, feeling various parts of her body. “Well, I feel a bit… empty inside? Like something’s… missing. But still connected.”

That statement confirmed Alphys’ thoughts, that her SOUL was most likely missing. Probably well turned into mush, by now. Her stomach worked very fast. Clicking her claws together, she decided to deliver the news now. “W-Well… the good news is… you’re alive! Umm… yeah.”

            Undyne raised a single eyebrow.

“Well the bad news is uhh… your SOUL… well…” Her stomach gurgled as a response, causing her to belch rather loudly. And belch something out as well. Alphys looked down, expecting a shoe or some other object of clothing. They were often hard to digest in comparison to magic. But… no. It was… a SOUL.

The white heart laid on the ground wetly, trembling and rather gooey. It seemed like it was melting, as opposed to shattering or disintegrating…? Alphys became incredibly excited in a short time, beaming and just saying, “Oooooooh!!!”

Its owner looked down at it, confused, a bit frightened, and intrigued all at once. She said, “Is that… me…?” A sense of connection drew her to the SOUL on the ground, even though she was unsure what to do with it outside her body.

Alphys jerked her arms up and down, bouncing her belly with it. “Eat it!!”

            “You- I- What?”

“Eat your SOUL!! It’s the only way I know to make it remerge with your body! I mean it could have some weird side effects but ohmygodit’sstillinonepieceIdon’tevenknowhow?!”

Undyne chuckled, “Alright, alright. I trust you, doc!” She scooped up the heart in her hands, which felt odd. She can’t imagine holding a SOUL was a very common experience. And she’d never seen one so… liquidy. With some hesitation, she plopped it onto her tongue. It tasted unique, for sure. Otherworldly almost, though brought down by a slight taste of bile. With Alphys watching her every move with unusual attention, she quickly swallowed. Her throat bulged slightly as the SOUL passed down it, disappearing into her chest. She put a hand over her belly as she felt it sink in, a rather odd feeling for her.

The little lizard eagerly asked, “So how was it? How do you feel??”

Patting her stomach, Undyne said, “Well… It was alright? Uh, I think I feel better now, though. And…” She tested her rejoined capabilities by simply walking a short distance away. “Oh yeah! I’m back in business!” Undyne generated a blue spear, tossing it directly into the ceiling above her. It disappeared after impact, leaving a widely grinning Undyne. “Thanks Alphys. And now I know not to doubt you, huh? You have a biiiiig appetite.”

Alphys chuckled bashfully, “Oh it-it’s nothing. I-I mean, you’re not nothing, I just mean, um… urrrrp.” Undyne laughed, walking back over to the monster. Her eyes were becoming droopy, finally succumbing to her body’s wants to properly absorb its food over a night’s rest. Alphys struggled to maintain looking up at Undyne, as much as she wanted to. She was starting to nod off, her head falling onto the cushion of her own gut.

Undyne noticed, rather familiar with the lizard’s sleeping habits under normal conditions. Even big meals with regular food made her pretty tired and she was familiar with the protocol. Lifting up the fat monster with some effort, Undyne managed to get her into a comfortable position to be carried. Which was simply cradling her, given the massive gut in the way. Undyne wondered what her body must look like in there. The lizard’s skin moved gently, alive with digestion. Maybe her body just looked like a blue puddle?

Regardless, Undyne carried Alphys out of the secret lab and up to her bed. It was messy, with some books and other things on it, but she swept those aside to make way for the scientist. She and her gut needed plenty of room, and she’d probably be sleeping for a while. Undyne laid her down on her bed and gently tucked her in. She mumbled something in her sleep as she did, making Undyne form a soft smile and awwed. “G’night, Alphy. I’ll come check up on you tomorrow.” With that, the royal guardsman took her leave, turning out the lights and locking the doors behind her.
