Digestive Mishaps with Pokemon - 'Mon Where They Don't Belong
Story Information
Cindy was running late. She was supposed to meet with a local aide to Professor Birch to help transport some goods, but it was her first time in Slateport City and she found herself getting lost easily. Admittedly, she often lost herself in any city bigger than Verdanturf. The summer sun beating down on her while she wandered also meant she was rapidly becoming sweaty. Finally, after she had enough, she asked a strolling local who helpfully pointed to her destination.
She walked up to a small house, knocked on its door a few times, then fruitlessly tried to wipe her forehead off. After long enough for her to lift her hand again, the door finally opened and a middle-aged woman in a lab coat appeared. “Oh dear, you look like you’ve been out in that sun too long.”
Cindy nodded appreciatively and said, “Yes, though sorry I’m late, it’s my first time in Slateport.”
“Ah well it’s a big city. Come, come!” She gestured inside and Cindy quickly stepped through the doorway. The door had barely closed when she took a few more steps forward and nearly slipped on what seemed to be a spill. Rather than apologizing directly, the aide looked at the puddle and scolded it saying, “Fontaine! Get out of the walkway, you could’ve hurt that poor girl.”
To Cindy’s surprise, the ‘puddle’ started to come together, finally transforming into an aquatic blue dog-like pokemon. As she braced herself on a wall she exclaimed, “Oh! That’s um, a vaporeon!”
The other woman nodded. “He’s a menace is what he is. Loves to do that where he shouldn’t.” Fontaine simply stretched in place, apathetic to the problem he almost caused. “Go on! Get!” Finally, he sauntered out of the area. Helping Cindy to her feet, she continued, “He is a vaporeon, you got that right. Good eye...?” She paused, awaiting a name.
“Ah, I’m Cindy. Sorry I’m such a mess, ma’am.”
“Cindy. It’s no problem, and you can call me Dr. Em if you like.”
Cindy nodded, finally back on her feet. “Nice to meet you, Dr. Em. I’m told I’m supposed to help deliver some goods?”
“That’s right. I’ve got them in the attic actually, but I’ll need your help moving some boxes around...” Em walked away, heading towards the back of the house to where the attic entrance seemed to be. Cindy let out a quiet sigh and then took a deep breath. Hopefully this wouldn’t take too long.
Half an hour later, but what seemed like eternity to her, Cindy was able to leave the attic back into the realm of air conditioning. She carried a box from the attic stairs to the front of the house, where she immediately dropped it on the first flat surface she could find. With a breath of relief she took in all the cold air she could, attempting to convince her body to stop sweating. Dr. Em simply chuckled, “Too hot for you here in Slateport?” Cindy weakly waved away the jest but couldn’t come up with a response. “Well, sorry to say but you’ll want to head out again momentarily since you were late to pick it up.”
Facing away with both hands on the table she defeatedly said, “I know...” She heard the aide start to walk away, but before she got out of earshot Cindy turned around and asked, “Actually, would you mind if I had some water before I go? It’s real hot out.”
Without looking back or stopping, Em simply said, “Sure, sure. Kitchen’s just across the hall, help yourself.”
Cindy walked across said hallway and found herself in a small kitchen. She started immediately opening cabinets for glasses until she looked down at the countertop and realized there was a large, albeit open jug of water just sitting there. Seeing it, she realized then exactly how thirsty she felt. The water looked almost crystalline, despite being in a simple plastic thing. She popped her head out into the hallway to see if Em was anywhere nearby to witness her down the entire jug, but she was busy typing away it seemed. So Cindy went to the jug, lifted it, and began to drink.
Gulp. Gulp. Gulp. Water had never tasted so good before. It poured easily down her throat and into her belly, filling her up on its own. The container was heavy when she had lifted it, but she didn’t care. Nor did she care about how much water she was drinking. She was so thirsty she felt like she would have drank an ocean given the opportunity. After a solid minute, she dropped the jug back on the counter and let out an audible, “Ahhhhhh.”
There wasn’t a drop left in it after she’d finished. She sat there basking in her newfound quenched state before a louder urrORurp managed to escape her lips. She covered them quickly, a little embarrassed by her manners. She started to walk back towards the package so she could leave when she heard and felt sloshing in her stomach. Slowly, she looked down and realized her stomach was incredibly bloated.
The tank top she was wearing did absolutely nothing to hide it; her dome of a belly jutted out a number of inches from her body. If it wasn’t for the fact that it wasn’t there a minute ago, one might easily mistake her for pregnant. Now this was REALLY embarrassing. She glanced down the hallway to see that Em still wasn’t watching, then quickly dashed across to grab the package. At least the box would help cover her water binge. Unfortunately, her stomach felt like it was moving on its own even when she tried to stand still at the table edge.
Cindy walked down the hallway to tell Dr. Em she was leaving, but on the way she felt stranger and stranger. She didn’t even quite feel sick but she couldn’t get rid of the feeling that her stomach was moving for some reason. Finally she took a peek at her gut again and noticed a new lump. Nervously, she poked it and in response she heard a shrill animal cry.
She froze up. Everything came back to her at once, the open container, the insane amount of water, Fontaine... She remembered when she first read about how vaporeons could transform into water. Now that had clearly backfired for both of them and she wasn’t sure what to do, but she could feel the occasional paw pushing out from within. Dr. Em suddenly spoke up, sending a shock down her spine. “Cindy? Are you leaving?”
Cindy swallowed and responded, “U-Um, yes ma’am!”
She heard a chair creak and she quickly lowered the package she was holding to hide her new paunch. Dr. Em came around the corner and smiled saying, “It was nice to meet you, Cindy. Be careful in the sun!” She nodded graciously and quickly turned to leave before anything could be noticed. As she was about to turn the doorknob Dr. Em shouted, “By the way, have you seen Fontaine? It’s about time for his lunch.” Her stomach mewed in response.
Cindy said no and goodbye at nearly the same time and closed the door behind her. Once she was on the other side she breathed a sigh of relief but then realized she had no idea what she was going to do. She couldn’t exactly spit the vaporeon up. At the same time, the feeling of him changing between liquid and solid constantly was making her queasy. Taking another deep breath, she just walked away. She figured the best she could hope for is that nobody noticed and she never saw Dr. Em again. At least Fontaine would be helping deliver her package...
