Avenging a Friend

Story Information

"Are you sure you'll be fine on this date? He's pretty big..."

"C'mon René, it'll be fine. Just because I'm a little bunny and he's a big bad wolf doesn't mean he'll eat me."

René frowned at his friend, an indeed small bunny named Goldie. She had a thing for bigger people, although this was probably the biggest date yet. She arranged a date with a tall red wolf this time, over dinner. René himself was a green frog with blue spots, only a little taller than the bunny. He was just concerned because he had a tendency to read stories about the worst happening with dates, even if it was in all actuality rare.

Goldie continued, "Plus, he looks pretty handsome, right?"

He glanced at her phone again. The wolf was a guy by the name of Rusty, and he had to concede he did look pretty good. "...Yeah okay, you got a point."

She grinned as she turned her phone back to her. "Yeah, so, I'm gonna go on this date, but you can be my backup if it'll make you feel better."

            "Uh... Sure. Where is it?"

"It's this restaurant in the mall actually. You can just chill somewhere in there while I'm on my hot date."

"Fiiiine." He sighed, but of course he hoped it went well for her. "Here's hoping you don't get ate!" His friend had always made questionable decisions in the couple years he's known her, but it's true she's managed to avoid anything too bad.

She laughed and said, "Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm sure everything will be great."

            */^\*

The date was the next day. René found a nice spot to wait on a bench with a view of the mall entrance of the restaurant. He watched his friend meet up with her date and chat some outside the restaurant. She seemed rather obviously excited to meet her new date. The wolf also seemed pretty nice, making her laugh while maintaining a very cool demeanor. After a bit of that, they finally went inside at Rusty's insistence.

With them inside, the frog swapped to browsing social media on his phone. Goldie would text him if she needed anything. The only unfortunate thing was that waiting was SO boring. His phone only kept him so entertained. Time passed slowly as he waited on his own. He got kinda hungry, but he didn't feel comfortable leaving his spot. Sigh. The things he does for friends.

He refreshed his timeline for maybe the timeline for maybe the tenth time when he noticed something strange. Goldie had tweeted, "Just gone done with my dinner date!" Something about the way it was worded seemed off. She didn't really... type like that. Also he thought he'd get a message before she would tweet something. Something was definitely off. The timeline suddenly refreshed and then his phone was filled with a picture of a red wolf's belly.

René blinked for a moment at the image before reading the rest of the tweet. It came from his friend's account again. It was actually a reply to the previous tweet. It said, "Looking forward to being with my new bf forever! <3" He looked back at the attached image again. It was really just a shot of his belly, which was rather round and small. If it wasn't for the context, it would look like a normal fat tummy. But this confirmed his worst fears. His friend got eaten.

He quickly hurried into the restaurant, looking for his friend's table. He received some strange looks as he did so, but soon spotted a wolf sitting alone at a table. He approached the wolf as his heart pounded anxiously, recognizing him as Rusty from Goldie's phone yesterday. He glanced down towards where his belly would be, though it was hidden under the edge of the table. When he finally reached the table, René stopped there and they just stared at each other.

This carried on for a few awkward moments. Rusty finally asked, with a deep, smooth voice, "Can I help you...?"

René's expression grew angry. "You... you ate my friend!"

The wolf mouthed oh before relaxing into a more comfortable smile. "I assure you I don't know what you're talking about. I was just having some dinner by myself. I was about to leave soon, actually."

"I KNOW you ate her. I saw your posts on her account!"

He slid out of the booth, at which point it became very obvious he was indeed the belly René saw on his timeline. He stared at it for movement, trying to check if she was okay in there. But maybe... maybe she was too small. He hoped. He looked back up at Rusty, who notably towered over him. He suddenly worried that he might join his friend, especially since the wolf was staring down at him. But instead he let out a small burp into his face.

"Why don't you go home, little frog? Even if I did eat your friend, there's nothing you can do about it."

At this point René was getting downright furious, even if he knew he was right. Just the fact that he was being taunted the way he was was getting to him more than what actually happened. "I-I'm not little! I'm big for my species!"

Rusty laughed meanly. "Whatever you say! But I think I'm going to go home and sleep off this meal of mine, if you don't mind." He didn't wait for a response, instead turning and heading towards the exit of the restaurant.

The frog turned and watched as he started to walk out. He could see the belly sloshing from side to side as he did, once again taunting him for his inability. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy, but the people who were there were clearly trying to ignore the situation unfolding around them. René balled up his hands, nearly shaking in rage. "You're... not... LEAVING!!" A pink tongue flew out of his mouth as he thrusted forward, cracking across the restaurant and landing squarely on the wolf's back.

Rusty stopped in his tracks, stiffening up as something wet and thick splatted against him. He instinctively reached for it as he felt it stay there resulting in his paw making contact something squishy and sticky. Then he slowly turned around and said shakily, "Wh-what the fuck?!" It was clear he wasn't expecting the frog to do anything like that. They stared at each other across the restaurant, the tongue acting as a tether between the two. Then René jerked his head back, whipping his tongue back into his mouth but also sending Rusty flying to his feet.

Now René was the one looking down. His friend's predator groaned below him, hurting from being flung across the room. He couldn't believe someone would so callously eat someone else the way he did. But now he was pissed. And even hungry from waiting on his friend before. He extended his tongue back out again, this time methodically coiling around the wolf from the legs up. As soon as he realized what was happening he tried to get up, but instead René pulled his legs into the air. This left him awkwardly on partly on the ground, leaning on an elbow as he looked up at the looming frog.

Rusty gulped, the tables very apparently turning. That said, he still couldn't concede at risk of embarrassing himself in front of everyone. "N-Now frog-legs here wants to be a big bad predator? Give me a break. You're not big enough to eat me." René's eyes narrowed as he began to retract his tongue once more. This time was slower, giving the wolf time for his situation to sink in. He pulled his legs in and swallowed. The wolf had a nice meaty taste, something René might admire more if he wasn't so irritated.

"Alright, look," he began as he felt his feet enter an open space inside the frog. "This isn't going to save your friend and I'm not gonna fit inside you. If you just let me go, I won't make you join your friend. Deal?" His only reply was another gulp, bringing him into the frog's maw up to his waist. "D-Dammit." He scanned the room and yelled, "Isn't someone gonna help me?! He's eating me in plain sight!" Even if some people took a glance at the reversal, most people ignored it with even more sound mind than before.

René continued to pull more and more of his tongue back into his mouth, dragging the wolf in with it. It'd been a long time since he ate anyone like this; it wasn't a thing he particularly enjoyed doing, although admittedly he was going to very much enjoy breaking this asshole down once he was done. His anger softened a bit as he dragged the wolf's gut into his mouth, feeling the lumpiness of Goldie's digested form still inside. He thought to himself, at least this way his friend will be part of him forever now.

As he finished up, the wolf grew switched from bargaining to outright begging. Unfortunately for him, René has no interest whatsoever in giving up his meal. His belly was bulging massively by now, leaving clear imprints of the lower half of the wolf up that point. Finally, all that remained outside was Rusty's head, looking upside down outside. He whined, then his predator's lips closed leaving him in nothing but darkness. And one last gluuulp sent him to his final destination.

René sighed as the last of his prey finally slipped down his throat, fitting into the now very much stretched and full sac that was his stomach. A sudden bruuuup caught him off-guard as the wolf adjusted into place, making him blush a little and excuse himself to a nearby waiter that was passing by. He took a seat on the edge of the booth Rusty had been using, his oversized belly sagging all over his legs as he did so. His stomach was visibly larger than he was and filled to the point his prey's outline was mostly well-defined, but it was so flexible he didn't feel any real discomfort from it. In fact, he was quite enjoying the feeling of the wolf struggling in there.

"What's the matter, Rusty? Can't take what you dish out?"

His voice came through, not very muffled, "Just you wait, when I get out of here, I'll show you how a real predator does it!"

"Hmm, something tells me a real predator wouldn't be in a belly to begin with! Don't you worry, I have a pretty quick metabolism. You'll probably be nothing but mush even sooner than you did Goldie."

True to what he said, stomach acids were already filling up inside. They fortunately didn't hurt, though Rusty could feel an intense tingling all throughout the parts of his body that were submerged in them. "Okay w-wait, we can talk about this! I'll let your friend go if you let me go!"

René scoffed. "My friend that you already digested?"

"Sh-she might still be fine! I don't usually digest prey that quick, even if they are small! I like to feel the struggles, y'know? Maybe she's just u-unconscious?"

He considered the possibility. Maybe he was right... but maybe he was just lying. He didn't want to have to swallow him again. He already thought she was digested and... even if he was right, he might not let her out. "I think... All I want right now is to feel your struggles." Those very ones began to intensify as the decision was heard. At the same time, his belly's gurgling and bubbling grew too as it began to really work on melting down its dinner.

            */^\*

Unfortunately, Rusty was partially right. He couldn't have known, but Goldie was in fact not digested and not even unconscious. Though she considered René paranoid, it wasn't like she went without safeguards. In addition to having her friend standby, when she was getting ready she used some specialty antacid shampoo just in case it turned out her date was a little hungrier than expected.

Her dinner had gone fine, up until the end of the meal when the waiter asked if they wanted any dessert. Rusty had winked and said, "No thanks, I think I might get something else." Then, soon after the waiter left, he reached across the table and snatched her up. She lost her phone in the ensuing struggle, which was unfortunate, but she noted the shampoo had been doing fine once she was actually inside. Of course at first she put up a struggle, especially considering being eaten was ruining her clothes, but then she recalled a story she read on a website one time. Some mouse had managed to avoid being digested by a cat because he stayed still until the cat decided to try and cough up a skull for memorabilia. Instead, he was spit out intact and managed to get away. Very popular story.

Anyway, that was what she had been doing for quite a while. She wasn't sure how long it would take though it was very boring. It was hard to hear anything from outside, but she thought she maybe heard René's voice at one point. She remained still just in case whatever he was doing didn't work, but then some very strange things started to happen. She felt Rusty get up and walk away. Then he stopped and soon after her world went crazy, tumbling around and then slamming hard into something.

By the time she'd recovered, she heard Rusty alternating a lot between a threatening tone of voice and a more panicked one. Then the stomach became a lot tighter as something squeezed it from outside, pressing her against both walls. It stayed that way for a while and she wondered if she was going to get digested until the pressure eased off. Then she heard Rusty start complaining again. Not for long though, as her window into the outside sounded like it was being drowned out. But she still seemed fine for the time being. What was happening, she wondered...?

On the outermost layer, René was thoroughly enjoying himself. He massaged his gut with both hands as the wolf inside him became ever more sludgy, melting down into chyme. It felt so satisfying to do this, especially to be justified in doing so. Inside him was Rusty, barely conscious as he sunk into a puddle of himself. He was far beyond being able to struggle or complain now, turning into a very thick tomato soup inside the frog's belly. He could hardly believe it was happening. Before collapsing entirely, he said defeatedly, "Burble..."

Finally, Goldie was just confused. But suddenly her dark and damp surroundings became even darker and wetter as mush pushed all around her, yet left her free from tight stomach walls. She started moving towards a direction and found... another stomach wall? She followed it on what she determined was up and surfaced in a lighter area, albeit still a fleshy stomach. It groaned a bit as it discovered her presence, finding her a bit harder to digest than the wolf around her. She realized what had happened shortly. Someone else had eaten Rusty while she was inside him. "Oh COME ON!!"

René was admiring his own handiwork as Rusty finished digesting. His belly rounded out to a soft, still sagging sack of soup, although quickly shrinking. He rubbed his belly and said, "Guess this 'little frog' was more than enough for the big bad wolf." He belched again while his stomach started to groan. "Oof, guess you're maybe a little bit too big, heh." He could feel something moving around in there and then he finally heard a yell.

That yell put a damper on things as he completely froze. He had a bad feeling about who it was, but he listened closely to make sure. From inside his stomach, a feminine voice clearly said, "C'mon you bigger predator, let me OUT!" and followed with a kick from a long foot. René instinctively covered his tummy and looked around. No one was paying him any mind. Guess people really didn't care about seeing a frog turn a whole wolf to mush. But now... that was definitely Goldie's voice just then. Fortunately no one else heard, though he wondered how much anyone would care.

She continued, "Hey, I'm talking to you!! I was inside that wolf you digested!"

I knew that, but I didn't realize you were still solid! René's mind was running through some options. His friend was alive, which was nice, though he already thought she was dead! He wondered how bad it would be to just keep digesting. It's not like things would change that much... She was already shown to be eaten on her social media. It's not like that would change if it was from a frog instead of a wolf. And it seemed like she didn't know who ate Rusty.

Whatever his plan was, he decided it was time to leave. He didn't want people to suddenly turn against him because he decided to keep his friend as part of his dinner. Fortunately the more liquidy wolf was starting to drain away into his intestines, shrinking his belly somewhat as he walked out of the restaurant. It sloshed about from side-to-side all the while Goldie complained. He got some strange looks but hurried out of the mall as fast as he could and headed to his car.

At least that's how it would've gone if it wasn't for a waiter stopping him on his way out. "I saw what you did," she said.

René swallowed very nervously, almost whispering as he stammered, "O-Oh? I'm-I'm not sure what..."

"Eating that wolf. It was a brave thing to do! When I saw him eat that bunny, I knew there was nothing I could do... But it's good to see you were able to exact justice. Was she your friend?"

            "Um... Yeah."

She nodded solemnly. "I'm guessing she was already digested by the time you ate him... Sorry about your friend."

He nervously pulled down his top as much as he could over his still massive gut, in case Goldie suddenly tried to speak up. "Y-Yeah... Thanks. I have to go um, leave? I'm having uh... indigestion."

He didn't wait for a response, instead darting away from the waiter, out the doors, and to his car. He couldn't really squeeze behind the wheel, but at least just sitting in the back seats he was away from the public eye. René relaxed, hoping the bunny in his belly would melt like the rest soon. He didn't really feel like trying to spit her out. He wondered how she even managed to avoid digesting so long, considering how small she was. Hopefully she wouldn't last as long inside him, but he wasn't sure.

Goldie meanwhile was just trying to get out normally at this point, struggling while staying afloat on her date. "Hey, can anyone hear me?!" The stomach she was in was getting tighter as it shrank from the large wolf being absorbed into the rest of the system. Her antacid shampoo was pretty premium stuff, but at this point she had been in stomachs for almost an hour. Not to mention, this one seemed pretty strong considering how quick it made work of him. Unfortunately, her mystery predator was keeping silent, leaving her with nothing but the acrid air and discomforting gurgling.

As the chyme left she felt her legs drag across the bottom, but also something very... solid. She decided to risk it and reach down, discovering the very familiar shape of a phone! Her phone, in fact. Well, there was another phone, but it was case-less and utterly destroyed by the stomach juices. Hers was fused with its case, but still functional. They must've been on Rusty when he was eaten. Unfortunately, between her soaked paws and the soaked screen, it refused to respond correctly to any touch. Luckily, she had an alternative. "Siri, call René!"

The frog was almost managing to nod off on his car seats when suddenly he heard his name spoken. Then his phone began to ring. It was very loud and obvious considering the only other noises were that of his own stomach. He hurriedly dug into his pocket to try and shut it up. Far too late. Goldie said from within, "Wait. René?" He stayed silent as a mouse, trying not to give anything away. "René?! Am I inside your stomach?!" He stayed silent, so Goldie gave him another call, which unfortunately went through. "RENÉ?! I know it's you!! Let me out!"

Her complaining resulted in another burp that he stifled. He couldn't believe she wasn't digested yet, but he didn't feel comfortable ignoring her anymore. With all the casual demeanor of a kid caught in the cookie jar, he said "Oh, heyyyy Goldie. I didn't realize you were in there."

"What do you mean, didn't realize?! Didn't you hear me and feel me kicking??"

            "N-no...?"

It was a blatant lie and they both knew it. "Well, lemme out! This stuff won't last forever!"

            "Uh... What stuff?"

"My antacid shampoo. It's why I'm not wolf chow right now."

Ah. He supposed that explained things. "Oh that's... nice..."

"Yeah, well, aren't you gonna let me out?!"

He took a sharp breath. "Uh, you see, I wasn't exactly... planning on it?"

There was a pause. Then a big kick. "You WHAT?! I'm your friend, you can't just digest me!"

"I mean, you're already in my belly and stuff! I kinda thought you were already digested before, to be honest."

"I'm not food! I'm your friend!"

He patted her sympathetically. "I mean, you're kind of both right now? Heheh!"

"This isn't funny!!" She punched a wall, albeit weakly. "You were supposed to have my back if something went wrong, not... this!"

"I mean, I did avenge you! That wolf guy got all gurgled up in there earlier."

"You can't avenge me if I'm not dead yet!!" She said, flailing her arms about in annoyance.

René rubbed his belly and continued, "Hey, this way you'll be with me forever! I guess anyway, since that's what the wolf dude said about you on your twitter."

"He posted on my-- wait, that's not the point!" Though, maybe it was? She suddenly got the idea to contact a friend that wasn't in the process of trying to, well, process her. Unfortunately, right as she went to use her phone again, she squeezed a little too hard and it flew out of her hand. "Fuck!" She said, blindly reaching down beneath her for it again. At that moment, the stomach walls around her suddenly convulsed for a moment, squeezing her against them. She heard the sound of plastic and glass clacking and then shortly thereafter, her surroundings shuddered and relaxed as a belch echoed out.

"Whew, excuse me Goldie! I've been gassy ever since I swallowed Rusty." He noticed that something had fallen onto the car floor, two somethings in fact. They were a pair of phones stuck together by slime, one of which he recognized as Goldie's. "Oh, uh, sorry about your phone. At least you won't have to get a replacement?"

She kicked, "That's not the point! René, let me out!"

"But Goldie, throwing up suuuuuucks! Look, you got eaten by that wolf, I think it's only fair if I get everything inside him. Sorry, but I tried to warn you!"

At this point, the conversation was just becoming circular and he didn't feel like trying to justify himself further. He noticed that his belly had shrunken quite a bit after moving the wolf on, leaving it much smaller with mostly just Goldie left in there. She was still struggling, but the smaller size meant he could finally get behind the wheel and head home. He turned on the radio and started to drive.

His bunny friend turned food in the meantime stopped complaining once he turned on the radio and it was clear she couldn't be heard anymore. The stomach walls around her seemed ever so eager to digest, fortunately her shampoo was still... working...? She lifted up a paw to check and noticed that it was awfully heavy. She could almost feel it... dripping. "N-No...!" She started back up complaining and kicking, but if there was a response she couldn't hear it.

René was enjoying his drive home, barely even thinking about his still working belly. The roads were clear and the radio was surprisingly enjoyable. He got home maybe 30 minutes later, hopping out of his car with a very liquidy slosh. He glanced down at his belly, almost surprised and said, "I see you came around!" He chuckled a bit. Then he pinched his belly sympathetically and said, "Sorry, buuut... At least I avenged you. And you and your date gave me a pretty nice meal for dinner!"
