Late Night Bzz
Story Information
A long day at work. And now, a long walk home. The long walk home was expected, the long day wasn’t. So now it was dark out and Calum was walking home alone. Calum was a big bird with a well-developed paunch, a puffin in particular. Between his beanie, hoodie, and jeans he might’ve blended in well with the dark city, but his colorful beak and a bright flannel over his hoodie made him stand out. Which was all well and fine during the day, but at night there would surely be unsavory types. He wasn’t walking particularly fast despite this, and so eventually hands reached out of a shadowy alley he passed by and forcefully pulled him into it.
Calum stumbled to his side, then regained his balance and turned to face his attacker. It was some wolf he had never seen before. The wolf’s fur seemed gray in the shadows, but he was also wearing a dark leather jacket with various pins and a t-shirt of some band that hid most of his fur. The wolf had a belly somewhat like himself as well, but there was a sort of tightness to it and his shirt that seemed to imply they were built of tougher stuff. They finally spoke up with a suitably menacing, masculine voice, “Well, well, well, look what I found wandering the streets so late at night.”
Calum sighed. “Look, I don’t want any trouble. I’m tired, I’m just trying to walk home.”
He could see a flash of fangs as the wolf sneered. “Well, I do want some trouble. And a nice, big bird like you seems like just the right kind.”
“Wait-- what?”
“Look, why don’t you throw your wallet on the ground over there.” He gestured towards the side of the alley. “I’m just looking for some food, you know?”
Calum did so, hoping the encounter would end, but he had a feeling this wasn’t a standard mugging. Indeed, the unnamed punk started to approach him now, sizing him up. “Good boy. You know, I’ve had plenty of other people, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a bird like you before.” To accentuate the statement, he patted his belly and licked his chops.
The puffin blinked. “You mean... Are you going to eat me?”
“Oh, was it that obvious?” He chuckled meanly and continued, “Oh don’t worry, I won’t struggle gulping you down at all. You’re not even the biggest guy I’ve eaten!” Calum was caught off guard by the wolf suddenly gripping his arms with incredible force, holding them still. “But I will say, you’ll still be a nice set of pounds on my belly when I’m done with you. Maybe if you’re lucky you can be a little more useful on my muscles!”
With that, Calum suddenly found himself staring down a drooling, pink tunnel lined by sharp teeth. There was hardly a second before the wolf’s maw lunged over him, knocking off his beanie as it engulfed his head. A hearty GLK sounded around him as he was tugged deeper, pulling his shoulders in. Maybe he should have struggled more, tried to run, but now it was too late. And yet he wasn’t really concerned. After all, it’s important to have self-defense options, especially when there’s guys like the one eating him lurking around. That said he was honestly a little surprised when he felt the wolf’s jaws fit around his belly.
After that it wasn’t very long at all before all of him was sealed inside. Calum settled into the belly, a bit uncomfortable, but otherwise unbothered. “Look, wolf whose name I don’t know? If you can hear me, you should probably let me out.”
BWAAARP. “Ah, sorry, meal! Couldn’t hear you over that. You were really filling weren’t you? I thought birds were supposed to be lighter, heheh.”
Calum rolled his eyes. “I said, you should let me out.”
“Pff. You weren’t even struggling on the way down and now you want out? Sorry, my stomach’s a steel cage. The only part of you that’s leaving is maybe some bones.”
Feeling a paw press him down into the gurgling surrounds kind of pissed him off, but he was mostly just tired and wanted to go home. “If you don’t let me out right now, I’m getting out my own way. Last warning.”
The wolf was now starting to become annoyed in his own way at the way his meal was acting. He pressed his paws more firmly into his gut and said, “I don’t think you understand the position you’re in, you stupid little snack. Maybe some roughing up will teEEEEEEAAHHHHH!” His stomach had suddenly developed what felt like a volcanic spike, threatening to burst out of his belly. And at the same time he felt like his skeleton was trying to shake off his skin and muscle.
After what surely must have been an infinity, he returned to the normal, cool night of the alley. Albeit he was laying on the ground now. And he suddenly felt like he needed to throw up. He was already on his side, so very easily he heaved and out came a rather ruffled and wet version of the bird he ate earlier. Calum crawled out and stood off, trying to dust himself off even though most of what was on him was just wolf saliva and stomach juices. The wolf couldn’t even say a word, he felt like he had just finished sprinting across the city.
Calum noted his beanie and wallet on the ground near the wolf and casually strolled over to pick them up. “At least my beanie managed to escape being swallowed... Ugh, I really don’t feel like washing wolf spit out of my other clothes.” As he replaced his beanie, he took a moment to look at the would-be predator at his feet. He didn’t look nearly as intimidating now, half-curled up on the ground and groaning. “I guess I should call the police or something...” As he started to pull out a phone, he heard more distinct mumbling come from the ground. Calum asked flatly, “Did you say something down there?”
“...whhhhat did you... do to me...?” He managed to muster out.
Out of a different pocket, the puffin pulled out a rather small black device, with metal nubs. A switch on the side made it crackle loudly and then it was clear how he escaped. “Taser. Pretty handy when there’s guys like you around.”
“FffffffFUCK you...”
Seeing how pissed he was yet so powerless amused him a bit. He pocketed the taser and returned to his phone. “Well, don’t worry, I’ll make sure you spend the night in a nice cell somewhere...” Right before he was going to hit call, he felt and heard his stomach growl. It brought up a different idea. A rather poetic idea. It was true, he was starving. He hadn’t really gotten a chance to eat dinner. But a would-be predator... Well, nobody would miss him.
The wolf was still trying to get to his feet, to even move at all really, but to no avail. His body just wasn’t listening while it tried to recover. So he was very surprised when he lifted from the ground and started facing his prey from earlier. “I think I have a different sort of cell for you, pup.” It took him a moment to get the puffin’s meaning, especially considering he wasn’t even considering it as a possibility. But there wasn’t a thing he could do besides try to yell as his muzzle was forced into Calum’s beak. Not that much came out, or anyone would be around to hear.
Instead, for the first time ever, and likely the last, he found himself sinking into someone else. He was furious at the fat bird, at his own body, and even himself for allowing him to get into this situation. It was all he could think of as his body slid between Calum’s beak. In a way, his tighter muscular gut even made it easier for him to fit in. He felt his pockets being checked for anything that would help him out, but there was no such thing. His leather jacket was peeled off and tossed aside somewhere as his hips slid into the tight, hot throat.
Calum’s throat bulged as the wolf passed through, but he was quickly disappearing behind the chub that already existed on Calum. Muscles more powerful than the wolf’s own worked to pull him down. Gulp. Gulp. Glulk. Soon enough the only thing left out was a fluffy gray tail, which he easily slurped up as he closed his beak. He sighed contentedly as he finally looked down at his settling gut. His meal was making his round belly unusually lumpy, as well as starting to separate his hoodie from his jeans. White feathers highlighted the gap.
“Ahh... That hit the spot. See, now this is how you eat someone. You went down so nice and easy... And there’s no way you’re getting out of there.” He grabbed his belly and jiggled it with one hand, trying to stir his predator-turned-prey into action. “Got anything to say in there?”
Feeling was finally returning to the wolf, and he hoped not too little too late. It wasn’t helping with how the stomach seemed insistent on keeping him off-balance, not to mention Calum himself shaking him around. “I’ve... Yeah I’ve got something to say!” He tried to punch one side of the stomach as hard as he could, but he practically rebounded off the wall.
Calum let out a nice belch in response. “Ooh! Careful, I wouldn't want you to knock yourself out and miss the fun.” He cringed slightly at his overly predator talking, but, well, he was a predator right now he supposed. And it wasn’t like his dinner was going to live to talk about his bad jokes. “No, pup, I think you’ve got a good future as puffin fat. Not even the ‘useful’ kind like you said, just right here on my belly.”
The taunting just served to make him even more furious. “No fatass bird is going to be the one to eat me! And I don’t need cheats to get out of here either!” He punched again, harder he thought, and even added in a kick for good measure.
BUWOOORP. “Whoo, you’re really knocking the wind out of me aren’t you? You might want to keep some for yourself too.” Calum was reluctant to admit to himself that he was having fun taunting the wolf, but he was. That said, it was time for him to continue walking home too. His stomach sloshed around as he began to move, gurgling around his prey. “Mmm... Maybe I should have tasted you some more, but I couldn’t help wolfing you down.” He shook his head. Okay... Maybe that was a bit much even for future fat.
The wolf roared, starting to thrash against everything. He couldn’t believe he wasn’t even making him sick. But no one he ate ever got out from just struggling either... Not to mention, the soreness in his muscles was starting to return with a ferocity. The stomach walls simply grinded back against him, trying to soften him into something much more malleable. He wondered if this was what his own stomach was like. As the thought of digesting and melting down like so many others did inside him really started to hit, he realized he needed to do the unspeakable. “Please... Please, let me out. I’m sorry.”
Calum scoffed as he heard his gut shift to muffled pleading. “Really? You haven’t even been in there that long. What happened to the strong punk wolf from a minute ago?”
A flash of anger crossed his face, but he swallowed it down to continue bargaining. “Look man... I was just joking, you know? I’m sorry!”
The pleading wasn’t even considered. He wasn’t very convincing and ultimately, it was simply much easier on the tired puffin if his dinner stayed where it was. “Sorry pup, but... Actually, no, not sorry!” He pushed in on his gut a little as he walked, trying to make it uncomfortable. “You’ve turned plenty of others into pudge, you were going to turn me into pudge. Seems only fitting that I get to return the favor. Successfully, of course.”
Even surrounded by sweltering heat, a chill went down the wolf’s spine. The gurgling all around him seemed even more menacing now. “W-Wait! You can’t just... digest me!” After no response but the sloshing of his saunter, he tried a bluff. “I-I have friends that’ll find you! If you don’t let me out, you’ll regret it!”
Calum considered the threat for the briefest of seconds. He shrugged. “Eh, I doubt it. Not to mention, if they’re anything like you, they’d join you on my belly anyhow.” Fortunately, he wouldn’t have to deal with his pathetic prey much longer. He’d just gotten home. “Finally,” he said, taking off his still drool-soaked clothes and tossing them into his washer. Dressing down gave him the opportunity to admire his own belly, still lumpy with his wolfy meal, although he was hardly noticeable. “Welcome home, pup. Shame you won’t be sticking around... Well, I guess in a way you will.” He smiled, sitting down on the couch while holding his gut. He rubbed a hand over the few bulges, as if trying to help it smooth out. Not that it wasn’t already working on that on its own, as it signaled with a long gurrrrgle.
“Please...!” The wolf tried to move any way he could, but any movement was overwhelmed by the stomach walls pressing against him. He felt terribly sticky. He didn’t want to believe he was melting, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was sinking into the puffin. “I’ll pay anything!”
Calum leaned back on the couch, just enjoying rubbing over his tummy with such weak movements buried beneath. “You’re already covering dinner. Not much better than that. Although it’d be nice if you could squirm a little better. Not very good at being prey, are you?” His stomach agreed with a low grrrrwl, as if unsatisfied. “Hmm... Speaking of dinner, I think I actually might want a little more...” He popped back up from the couch, heading into the kitchen to investigate his fridge. Fortunately, there was an appealing extra box of pizza from a large order the night prior. He took it out and started to microwave a few slices at a time.
The wolf in his belly was confused by the movement, as he didn’t quite catch the sentence following his taunt. He tried to continue their previous conversation by saying, “Please, I... I’m not strong enough to struggle anymore...” This got no response. He wasn’t even being taunted or fondled, just completely ignored. It would make him angry if it wasn’t so hopeless. Then after a minute or so he heard a distinct ding that seemed to penetrate through the squelching noises of his environment.
It was hard for him to think about what that meant, especially with how much the heat seemed to be blurring his mind. But he became very aware when he heard swallowing from above and then bites of pizza began to rain down on him. The feeling of actual food hitting his head and sliding down his fur to join him made the rage from earlier rise back to the surface. “What’s the big idea, fatass?! I’m not enough for you?!” He yelled.
Even reheated pizza is still so good. Calum was enjoying his second dinner, more of a supplement really, rather blissfully before his previous dinner made its presence rudely known. He smacked his belly, eliciting a yelp and a glorp. “Keep it down in there. For all that gut and muscle you had, you’re not that filling.” He took another bite of pizza and swallowed. “I have to stay up and wash my clothes because of you and I’m hungry. Besides, you’re food now. Food...” Calum pushed the wolf’s head down, into the mush and acid. “...Doesn’t talk.”
The wolf struggled under the pressure, although he was helpless until Calum decided to actually let go. He gasped, feeling even less solid than before. More pizza fell down on him, serving to further confirm his place on the food chain. The food mash was mixing around him and it was hard to tell exactly where he ended and it began. Despite this, in spite of how much he may or may not be digesting, he still wanted to believe he could find the magic words to get out.
Soon after finishing his pizza, Calum happily sighed, leaning on the counter and patting his belly. “That’s better. And my clothes should be done in a few...” He looked down at his belly with a tired smirk and patted it a little more forcefully on a lump. “Then we can go to bed, if you’re not already done.”
It was getting hard to think, but he tried to stay awake. “I’m... still here...” was all he could manage to say.
“Not for long, it sounds like. Hopefully you’ll be quiet when I try to sleep.” The washer suddenly buzzed, indicating it was done. “Ah, looks like that’ll be happening in a few.” He pulled out the wet clothes and tossed them into the dryer, turning that on. With all that done, he could finally head to sleep at last. He turned out the lights and flopped onto his bed, yawning. “Good night, pup. You weren’t very good prey, but I’m sure you’ll make for better chub by morning.”
Calum flopping into bed disoriented and mixed him with his surroundings enough he didn’t get to hear the good night. As his predator started to doze off, the stomach around him only seemed to be getting more active. “I... I can’t be digested by some bird...” A rumble from all around seemed to say Yes, you sure can. After all, where he was he wasn’t going to be treated any different than the pizza. Soon, they would be inseparable. He had one more chip to bargain with. “L-Look, sir, if you let me out... I can get you some of my friends! You can eat them! Just not me...”
There was a moment of silence. Then his cage shuddered as he heard SNRRRRRK ripple through. Calum had fallen asleep on the couch, soundly satisfied from his meal. “No... no...!” cried said meal, realizing he was well and truly fucked. He couldn’t believe that he could just be digested like a normal meal. Like anyone he himself digested before. His exhaustion was overwhelming now, inviting him to just melt away with the rest. He was all Calum’s now. And the last thing he heard before fading was a well drawn-out bwellllch.
*/^\*
Calum woke up drowsily some hours later, with light shining in now. He’d become sprawled out during the night, but felt comfortable. He did notice his own well-developed paunch, which was always an obvious bundle of white feathers, was a little bigger now than the day before. He sat up to better take in the wolf’s new form. His belly had rounded out, but in doing so it also hung forward a little more than the day before and even had a slight sag to it. That was where most of him had clearly ended up, but there were noticeable and admirable additions elsewhere too.
He smiled, pressing his hand into his gut to appreciate the doughiness of it. “Seems like you’ve gone and found a new home, huh pup...?” He jiggled his tummy with the sunken hand, enjoying the sound of it sloshing emptily. “Figures you couldn’t last the night. All talk, no bite.” He stretched and then gently put a hand back on his belly. Warm sunlight bounced off of it, inviting him back to sleep. There was always something so nice about churning away some arrogant predator.
Unfortunately, his stomach seemed to have something to say. It rumbled, although he wasn’t sure if it was from hunger or leftovers. Either way, he turned and sat up, trying to get a feel for which it was. Feels like there’s definitely something solid in there. He closed his eyes and hit his chest a few times. With a quick and final ERRURP, that something solid flew out from his beak, hit the ground, and broke in two. Calum scoffed as he looked down and recognized it as a canine skull. The lower jaw had fallen off on impact, but they were otherwise intact. He reached down and picked up the pieces, looking into its empty eye sockets. “Hah. Looks like your bones are as fragile as your ego."
He got up from the bed, grunting with some effort from the extra weight. “It’s rare that I get a skull... A lot of you predators don’t make for very tough prey. Guess that means you get to be remembered as a little more than just flab.” The puffin strolled over to a drawer, which he pulled open. It was filled with a variety of knick-knacks from other predators that became prey. Not just bones, but little accessories, some clothes. Stuff that had managed to barely escape a melty fate, even if their owner didn’t.
Dumping the skull in there without much care, the two parts clattered into place and he closed the drawer behind it. Then his stomach growled again. “Okay now that’s hunger... You just really weren’t that filling, even with my leftovers. Oh well...” He left behind the drawer of knick-knacks, moving on to find some breakfast. Maybe even something like last night’s dinner, if anyone tried to pull something on him again. There were always stupid people in the world.
